Gaining Weight

"Any advice on how to gain weight?"

A: AP FIT says...
This is a great question because while everyone is busy focused on losing weight and getting that celebrity body there are others who are naturally lean and desperately looking to gain weight. The real question is what kind of weight are you looking for? It's easy to gain weight by just essentially eating donuts all day every day but most people want to gain healthy weight and with this being a fitness blog after all we're going to assume you want to gain healthy weight. So without further wait...GAINING WEIGHT...

While I won't go deep into the science of weight gain I'll try to break it down in simple terms. Let's think of calories as money. The more money that you have in the bank the more things you can buy. The less money you have the less things you can have. I always ask my clients to picture the old newspaper cartoons, every time you saw a rich man he was always drawn as a rich fat guy with loads of money and when someone was poor they always drew them as skinny and sad. Well this is kind of how gaining weight goes. In order to gain weight you need to have a caloric surplus which means you need to store more calories than you spend. Naturally lean people turn to have high metabolisms and not store as many fat cells as others. This means you have to work very hard at EATING A LOT! A LOT!
I recommend you stick to clean, healthy eating but just start by eating 6 times a day and medium to large portions instead of smaller ones. If you really have a hard time gaining weight don't be shy to add some cake and ice cream here and there. The chances are your body will probably put it to good use.

Remember...you have to eat more...A LOT MORE!
