  1. I hear everyone always saying that I should be eating right but no one ever really says what foods are considered the "right" foods. What foods do you recommend?

  2. Hi Alvin,

Thank you so much for offering your advice. I do need a little help. I recently joined a gym and the only thing I’m consistent with is cardio; I do Zumba classes a couple of times a week in addition to 30-40 minutes on the elliptical machine to break it up. I’m at a plateau with my current cardio only workouts. So, I want to add something else; maybe working out with weights or machines to build a little muscle and tone certain areas. I’m a little overwhelmed by the amount of machines at the gym and need a plan. Do you have any advice or know of any resources I can utilize to set up a plan?

    Thank you,
    Rita

  3. Hey, Alvin

Great blog site- good for you!! I have a question from my 17 year old step-son: His basketball coach told them to drink protein shakes after practice. I saw your posts referring to casein protein. Can you recommend a good brand to buy? I know not all supplements are made the same.

  6. Hello Alvin,
By the way I love your blog. Gets a lot of my questions answered. SO I have hypothyroidism which its just slow metabolism due to my thyroid gland and I take medication for it, I also just had my baby girl 5 moths ago. I been having a hard time loosing weight. I lose 2 pounds and gain them right back. So my question is what is you personal opinion on the HCG diet, whether its the shots or pills. And what would you suggest in my case?
    Thanks...

  8. Hey Alvin,
I just want to start by letting you know that I love your blog. =)I had a bad car accident 3 months ago and have been under Medical Care ever since. I need to get back to my regular weight because due to the lack of exercise, medicines, and bed rest, I've gained 15 lbs. I have 2 cervical and 2 Lower Lumbar Herniations that are very painful but is something i have to learn to live with. What would be a good workout routine for a person with my injuries? How can i strengthen my neck & back to be able to get back to regular workouts? Doctors recommend exercise but not really get into details as to how to do this......HELP! ;)

  9. Hey Alvin!
I have a question, is it possible for someone who loses 100-150lbs to look similar to someone who never had the weight on, skin elasticity wise I mean! Thank you!!!

  12. I followed a plan similar to ideal protein for two months (Jan,Feb) and lost approximately 18 pounds. I was concerned about the extremely low calorie count, incomplete nutrition, and not being able to exercise. At the end of February, I quit the program. I now eat 1300-1700 calories per day, no flour, no sugar. I work out to the Insanity program 6 days a week and have been doing a couch to 5k program 3 days. The scale has not moved down one iota. So I added Spartacus to the days I don't run (about 2 sets). Scale still not budging. I am 44, female, 5'7.5", 180#. Any thoughts?? I try to do a carb/protein snack mornings and afternoon.
